“I was just really pleased that the issue was well-received,” he said. “I think that EA is going with John Madden… I’m glad they took that choice, because I’m sure I’d have personally opposed it had that happened, but I believe they knew the right thing to do from the beginning.

“There is no choice to cover this year’s issue than John Madden and also to know that everyone else was on that same train. it’s true, this isn’t logical. John Madden has to be on the cover.’ It was the execution and the way it was rolled out made a huge difference… I could not have asked for anything more.”

Moreover, as Styles was shown through EA’s headquarters back on the 1st, he spotted massive banners with “Stars Wars,” “FIFA” as well as “Madden” cover art in the lobby. Then, on the wall that was dedicated to recording the over 1500 games EA has released since its inception, realizing how his Madden cover would soon be displayed alongside the other games the kid he knew played.

Styles in his sixth year as a full-time artist, admitted that he’s working to keep his focus on what’s still to come in the form of new projects. “Sometimes I’ll be sitting there and be like ‘Hold on I’m a man… F***in’ Madden cover! That’s a major!'” Styles said. “Then simultaneously with all the things going on right now, I know that I have to stay focused on the projects that are in my path.

“I know I’ll be in a position to truly celebrate at the top of my game when that game is in the store, at Walmart and my nephews, my cousins and friends will be celebrating with me with the physical copy, and playing this game.”
